Modular Steel in the Circular Economy
ENG: The “Modular Steel in the Circular Economy” workshop is designed for students who are interested in sustainability, circular economy, and hands-on eco-design. The workshop focuses on building and reconfiguring modular steel structures using the Eitech construction kit, while exploring the concepts of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and the Circular Economy (CE).
Through this process, participants will discover how Design for Disassembly (DFD) enables reuse, how circular design reduces environmental impacts, and why reuse is often more sustainable than recycling in keeping materials like steel in circulation.
GER: Der Workshop „Modularer Stahl in der Kreislaufwirtschaft“ richtet sich an Studierende, die sich für Nachhaltigkeit, Kreislaufwirtschaft und praktisches Ökodesign interessieren. Der Workshop konzentriert sich auf den Bau und die Umgestaltung modularer Stahlkonstruktionen unter Verwendung des Eitech-Bausatzes und befasst sich dabei mit den Konzepten der Lebenszyklusanalyse (LCA) und der Kreislaufwirtschaft (CE).
Durch diesen Prozess entdecken die Teilnehmer, wie Design for Disassembly (DFD) die Wiederverwendung ermöglicht, wie zirkuläres Design die Umweltbelastung reduziert und warum die Wiederverwendung oft nachhaltiger ist als das Recycling, um Materialien wie Stahl im Kreislauf zu halten.

Il workshop si concentra sulla costruzione e la riconfigurazione di strutture modulari in acciaio utilizzando il kit di costruzione Eitech, esplorando al contempo i concetti di Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) e Circular Economy (CE).
