Brick to Brick: The Circular Build
ENG: In this hands-on session, pupils will explore how construction can become more sustainable through circular design. Using reusable mini bricks and water-soluble mortar, they will build, disassemble, and rebuild structures, learning how materials can stay in use instead of becoming waste. Along the way, they’ll discover circular economy principles, life cycle thinking, and creative ways to design for disassembly. This workshop turns pupils into problem-solvers for a more circular future in construction.
GER: In dieser praktischen Unterrichtseinheit erkunden die Schüler, wie das Bauwesen durch zirkuläres Design nachhaltiger werden kann. Mit wiederverwendbaren Mini-Ziegeln und wasserlöslichem Mörtel bauen, zerlegen und wieder aufbauen sie Strukturen und lernen dabei, wie Materialien weiterverwendet werden können, anstatt zu Abfall zu werden. Dabei entdecken sie die Prinzipien der Kreislaufwirtschaft, das Lebenszyklusdenken und kreative Möglichkeiten, für die Demontage zu entwerfen. Dieser Workshop macht die Schüler zu Problemlösern für eine zirkulärere Zukunft im Bauwesen.
ITA: In questa sessione pratica, gli alunni esploreranno come l'edilizia possa diventare più sostenibile attraverso la progettazione circolare. Utilizzando mini mattoni riutilizzabili e malta idrosolubile, costruiranno, smantelleranno e ricostruiranno strutture, imparando come i materiali possano rimanere in uso invece di diventare rifiuti. Nel corso dell'attività, scopriranno i principi dell'economia circolare, il concetto di ciclo di vita e modi creativi per progettare in funzione dello smantellamento. Questo workshop trasforma gli alunni in risolvitori di problemi per un futuro più circolare nell'edilizia.
